MIDI / Power Control

Right Half

Main power switch This module doubles as a power entry control port to allow front panel control for turning the power on or off to the cabinet power distribution.

LED indicators: indicate presence of +15VDC (Red) and -15VDC (Blue)

Channel UP/Down buttons: Increases or decreases MIDI Channel, Pushing both buttons momentarily toggles between MIDI Channel display and MIDI bypass (indicated by a "0" on the display). Pushing both buttons simultaneously longer than 2 seconds toggles between MIDI Channel and bypass mode but latches the gate to the on position.

Rate adjust: Turning this control allows for adjusting the MIDI glide time.

Display: default is the selected MIDI Channel. Changes to glide timing mode when rate adjust is moved or the glide select switch is toggled. Defaults back to MIDI channel display after 2 seconds when no rate adjust control movement is detected. Channel 0 is MIDI Bypass. Display flashes briefly to indicate that "middle C" has been pressed.

V/O Adj: Multi-turn user adjustment for adjusting the Volts/ Octave scaling of the CV output.

Left Half

Gate on LED: Illuminates when a gate voltage is present at the Gate out jack. Gate voltage is +15VDC.

Gate out Jack: Positive 15 volt DC gate is present when a key is pressed or when manually latched on with the MIDI Up/Down buttons.

CV Out jack: Linear keyboard output at 1V/Octave. Keyboard pitch bend wheel "bends" the keyboard CV voltage +/- 1 Octave (+/- 1 Volt). Middle C (MIDI note #60=3VDC) The CV outputs the highest note played if more than one key is pressed.

Mod Out jack: Outputs 0 to 5 Volts in response to the full range motion of the keyboard modulation wheel. For example: The output of this jack plugged into the Env. in jack of the VCA will allow the mod wheel to be used as a volume control.

Trigger Select: Allows user control of generating a gate voltage for every new key press(Multi) or only re-generating a gate voltage after there is no key pressed prior to the next key press(Single).

Glide Mode switch: Allows for selection of no MIDI glide (Off), Continuous glide (Smooth) or a glide that only outputs valid MIDI notes during the glide transition (Stepped). Also considered Glissando. If the Trigger switch is in the Single position, the notes will output while the gate responds only to the physical key press. If the Trigger switch s in the Multi position, the gate will re-trigger for each valid MIDI note output during the glide.

Glide Timing: Normal, typical standard glide that transitions at a set rate per octave. The Rate Adjust control will allow setting of this rate from 0.1 to 5.0 seconds per octave as indicated on the display. Fixed Time allows for glide transitions at a fixed time rate between subsequent key presses. The Rate Adjust control will allow for setting of this rate from 0.1 to 9.9 seconds as indicated on the display. If the time is set and the key spread is only a half step, the pitch will change the half step at the end of the set time period. Toggling this switch will force the display from the MIDI Channel to the selected display time for 2 seconds without disturbing the time setting.

MIDI In: 5 Pin DIN jack for connecting a MIDI Keyboard or any other MIDI generating device.

User Menu Parameter

MIDI V2.1 is the current version of the firmware. If you would like to upgrade from a previous version please contact us.

This version adds a menu for user-selectable parameters. Some are unique. New features include user defined pitch bend range (independent up and down ranges), mod depth and rate, gate direction, glide direction, key gate number, high-low-or last note key priority and a "glide on mult. key" function. Version 2.1 also adds MIDI pedal sustain support.
