Voltage Controlled Dual Low Frequency Oscillator

The Voltage Controlled Dual LFO is identical to the standard Mattson Dual LFO with the ability to control the oscillator rates independently with an external CV.

CV in: Input jack for the external control CV.

CV amt: Attenuator to control the amount of effect the external CV will have on the oscillator rate.

Low Frequency Data log

Data log test using minimum rate with a -5V CV.

Each sample was taken every three minutes.

Each grid square= 1 hour.

Cycle time as shown = 2.5 hours.

With 0V CV, Rate range:

Min (full CCW)=29 seconds

Maximum (full CW)= 1.416 Khz.

With Minimum (Full CCW):

0CV= 29 seconds

+5V CV= 2Hz

-5V CV= 2.5 hours

LFO top end is 1.416 Khz.

Setting full +5V CV and adjusting rate until top end starts to drop:

Max (at 5V CV)= 1.416 Khz

0CV= 55 Hz

Min (at -5V CV) 0.75 Hz

Symmetry range (full CCW to full CW)=6% to 93%

Cycle times for negative CV's:

Rate at Minimum:

0V= 29 seconds (~1/2 minute)

-1V= 60 seconds ( 1 minute)

-2V= 150 seconds( 2.5 minutes)

-3V= 390 seconds( 6.5 minutes)

after this level, the duty cycle starts to shift more positive.

-3.5V 780 seconds (13 minutes)

-4V 1,530 seconds (25.5 minutes)

-4.5V 2,880 seconds (48 minutes)

-5V 9000 seconds (2 hours 30 minutes)

-5.1V Flat lines wherever it is.

-5.2V Slowly increases past +5v limit and stops at PSU supply level.

All values are measured from the bread board.
