Hinge Basics
MMM cabinets are connected together horizontally with slip-joint hinges, which allow you to slide the two halves of the hinges apart. The cabinets can be connected in the following configurations:
- Side-by-side, 2 hinges only: Allows you to adjust the angle between the two connected cabinets.
- Side-by-side, all 4 hinges: Locks the cabinets so that they are in line with each other.
- Face-to-face: Protects modules and allows for easy transportation.
To connect two hinges one must be an 'A' hinge and one must be a 'B' hinge. Plan your hinge configuration for each cabinet based on how you want to connect them together.
The recommended configuration is to make each cabinet either all 'A' or, all 'B'. Alternate 'A' and 'B' hinge sets every other cabinet. This allows you to slide one cabinet up and off of another when they are connected face-to-face and lock them side-to-side when set up for operation.
